The STS template Layout Book provides a complete and logical structure of subsets for organizing your drawings, including a Template Sheets subset. This subset stores all possible layouts that you would typically use in a project. Just drag the layouts into the appropriate phase folder (Schematic Design, Design Development, etc.) and you’re on your way!
Layouts
Each layout is setup with automatic sheet naming and numbering and a non-printing layout grid that coordinates with the STS Page Layout object in ArchiCAD for easy and error proof drawing positioning and cropping.
Sheet sizes are included for nearly every conceivable paper size with title blocks, sheet borders and a non-printing layout grid. TItle blocks make use of AutoText so entering project information is easy.
Layout Grid
The layout grid is a non-printing array of cells on the master layout that you can snap to when placing and cropping drawings on your layouts. Its real time saver and helps you make consistent layouts. The layout grid corresponds to the STS Page Layout object in ArchiCAD. Place the STS Page Layout Object around your drawing in ArchiCAD to determine the printed drawing extents and then place and crop accordingly using the layout grid in PlotMaker.
Drawing Titles
The new STS templates make use of new PlotMaker features like drawing titles. When you import a drawing a title is automatically added to the drawing. The STS drawing titles feature automatic drawing name and scale and also inlcude the path of the source file to make it easy to identify where the drawing came from. This is a real benefit when you have standard drawings that come from one source and project specific drawings that come from your project ArchiCAD model.
Pre-inseted Content
The STS comes with many
drawings pre-inserted into the layout templates. This
illustrates how you can link the layouts to a blank
ArchiCAD model template, in effect creating dummy
links that can be relinked to a working ArchiCAD model
when appropriate saving time and keeping layouts
consistent between projects.
The entire template is designed to be instantly usable and easily customizable. No two Architects are the same and no two Architects work in the same way. The STS is the springboard for increased productivity. Start with the STS for ArchiCAD “out-of-the-box” and thenr e-work and reorganize the template files to meet your specific needs.
Layers
All the layers you’ll
need including layers for demolition, existing, and
new work. All layer names are National CAD Standard
compliant which means you and your consultants,
engineers, plan reviewers, and facility managers will
be familiar with them already. NCS layer names are the
most common CAD layer names in use, but if you would
rather use other layer naming conventions like MaxATS
they can be easily merged in via the Attribute Manager
and there’s even a conversion table included in
the STS User Guide.
Layer Combinations
22 layer combinations for all common drawing types from floor plans to elevations to structural framing plans. Each layer combination is linked to the appropriate Drawing View for simple customization and consistency.
Stories
Stories for a typical 2 story building plus XREFs, schedules, and GDL object creation. Easily add or delete stories as required for your projects.
Elevations
4 exterior elevations and 2 building sections plus numerous empty interior elevation markers are all placed in the plan window and ready for you to just move them into place in your model. All elevations and sections are preset for the new automatic drawing & sheet number display in PlotMaker and preset for displaying on the proper story.
View Sets
View Sets are critical in
ArchiCAD for organizing, naming and linking your
drawings onto Layouts. The STS has View Sets designed
for logical organization of your model views setup for
direct linking to Layouts, exporting engineering
backgrounds to DWG, and uploading to the web via
Project Publisher. Everything has a place. Everything
is organized.
Pens & Colors
Unique Pens & Colors palette designed especially for working in ArchiCAD. Colors are associated with element types making any element easily identifiable in any model view.
Library Parts
The STS Library is included with 16 objects & labels for notation
You can pick and choose and customize whatever needs to be changed. It's impossible to predict what every user might want to do so my templates are designed to provide a logical structure to work with, but it is not a fixed or restricted system in any way.
